Activity Touch Table

A new arrival in St. Bernards

March 2020

Activity Touch Table

We have a new arrival at St. Bernards, and its ready already made quite the impression.

The ‘Tiny Tablet’, is an interactive table that aims to provide person centered care through technology. This device is far from tiny as it boasts a 40 inch screen, large enough for our residents to have a great experience.

The applications include brain training apps, games, keep fit apps, movies, music and many more. It is especially useful for those residents that are not mobile, as it is completely portable!

St. Bernards Residential Care is committed to always provide the latest technology to the home to compliment the lifestyle of their residents. We will be introducing a series of new technological advances throughout the coming weeks, so please look out for the next news update.

If you would like to find out more about the ‘Tiny Tablet’ and its benefits, please feel free to contact us.

Putting our resident first always

Putting our residents first always

March 2020

St. Bernards and Coronavirus – Putting our residents first

Please be advised that St. Bernards Residential Care will be closed as of the 19th March 2020 until further notice. This is adhering to the latest Government and Public Health England guidance. We understand this is a difficult time for all but we must put the health and wellbeing of our residents at the forefront of everything. As you know the elderly and medically vulnerable are at the greatest risk so we must shield them as much as we can.

Visiting St. Bernards Residents

With the complexities this virus brings such as its rapid contagion, we are no longer allowing resident’s friends or family to visit the home during this quarantine period. We are however making special effort to keep you in touch with your loved ones with the use of technology. If you wish to speak to any resident at this time please call 0121 708 0177. Alternately we can also arrange a video call so you are able to communicate even further. To use this service, please call the number stated and ask a member of staff to arrange this.

Residents Wellbeing and Mental Health

Please be assured we will be taking extra measures to ensure all residents are both mentally and physically stimulated during this time. Activities in the home will be prioritised and we will be documenting all happenings through our digital care-plans.

A Huge Thank You

A huge thank you for all the support

July 2020

The devastation Covid 19 has caused has swept across the world, and very few have been exempt from feeling some type of impact by this virus.

The old, young, healthy, rich, and poor have all fallen victim. During this period at St. Bernards Care, we pay homage to our brilliant staff, the family and friends of residents and all those thinking of us at such a sensitive time.

These times are challenging, the loss has been great but the human values we have witnessed is what needs to be highlighted. Those of kindness, gratitude, patience, love, and empathy.

Visiting the Home

You are now able to see your loved ones under Public Health Guidelines. We have a beautiful, spacious garden, where residents and their loved ones can meet in a comfortable and safe setting. With ample seating across the grounds, you are able to enjoy the wonderful views in the company of our resident.

We ask you to call the main reception to book a garden visit, and request that you wear a nose and mouth covering when meeting your loved one.

We have a designated garden entrance, and should the weather take a turn the Garden Spa can be opened for family visits. It has wide bi-folding doors over looking the landscaped garden.

Welcoming new Residents:

We are pleased to inform that we are taking new admissions and are committed to supporting the needs and wellbeing of all our residents both existing and new.

At this present time, we are offering potential residents the chance to view the home through a virtual tour. We would like to invite you to view the video tour and encourage you to contact us with any questions you may have.
